Following the example of Jesus Christ, we strive to bring everyday life into our times of worship
so that worship will go out into our everyday lives.
We believe that worship is at its best when the whole community is invited to participate in the process. Therefore, there are a number of ways to get involved with worship at Riverside UMC.
WORSHIP PLANNING TEAM - On the first Monday of the month @ 7pm, all are welcome to gather for a special time of worship planning. (No special experience necessary!) We break up into small groups and focus on generating creative ideas for a specific week of worship.
For the TRADITIONAL SERVICE:
Contact Susan Dick, our Volunteer Coordinator, to inquire about any of these ways of serving God!
- USHERS & GREETERS
- COUNTERS - who volunteer to count the offering for 2 services
- SOUND TECHNICIANS
- LITURGIST - welcomes the community, reads announcements and opening Scriptures
Musically inclined? Consider one of the following:
- CHANCEL CHOIR - This Choir does not sing in the summer - this group sings weekly at the 11:00 service. Practices are at 7:30pm on Thursday nights. Contact Kary Dover, the Chancel Choir Director, if interested.
- AGAPE CHOIR - this group sings occasionally at the 9:00 service. Contact Vicki Rich if interested.
- BELL CHOIR - this group plays occasionally at both the 9:00 services. Contact Vicki Rich if interested.
For the CONTEMPORARY SERVICE:
- CONTEMPORARY MUSIC TEAM - All vocalists & instrumentalists are encouraged to inquire with our Contemporary Music Director John Stahl for ways they can be involved with worship.
- TECHNOLOGY TEAM - We can always use another person to run the soundboard or the power-point slides on Sunday mornings. Contact our Contemporary Music Director John Stahl for more information about getting involved.
